Is Knowledge a Requirement of Salvation? Reflections on 2 Peter (Part 1) October 14, 2016 Share It : Facebook Twitter Google+ Email At the conclusion of his second epistle, Peter asserts that his fellow apostle Paul has written some things that are “hard to understand” (2 Peter 3:15-16). Though the Apostle Peter may have lacked the scholarship and rhetorical complexity of the Apostle Paul, his writings are nonetheless provocative and full of deep theological insights. Looking at 2 Peter 1:1-11, we find an interesting theological exposition of the process of salvation. The simplicity of the language masks its deep theological treasures, specifically with regards to salvation and the morally reconstructive power of the gospel.
